Gabriela Cavallin, who has previously accused Antony of assault, has released a new statement following the winger's return to Manchester United's first-team activities. Antony had taken a leave of absence to address these allegations but resumed training with the team on Friday.

As Antony rejoins the Manchester United squad, Cavallin's legal representatives have issued a statement on her behalf. Manager Erik ten Hag is eager to reintegrate Antony into the squad, especially with Jadon Sancho's absence due to injury. 

Ten Hag has explored various options for the right-wing position, including giving opportunities to youngster Facundo Pellistri and occasionally utilizing Alejandro Garnacho.

The statement from Cavallin's lawyers reads: "Gabriela Cavallin's attorneys would like to emphasize that the player's alleged crimes are still under investigation by both Manchester Police and Brazilian Police. We anticipate that he will soon be facing legal proceedings and a trial.

"It appears evident to us that there may be attempts to distort the facts with the aim of facilitating his return to training with the team."

This statement underscores the ongoing legal proceedings and investigations surrounding the allegations against Antony. The situation remains complex, and the player's return to the team is likely to be closely monitored both on and off the pitch.
